This year, the success of The Annual Research and Innovation Symposium and Exhibition (RISE) from April 4 through April 7, 2022, has only continued to grow and bring in stronger talent with each successive year, and this year was no different. RISE gives Norfolk State University students the opportunity to showcase their work, how to work as part of a team, how to present their knowledge and findings clearly and confidently, and generally be a part of a professional conference style program.

William Carroll Writers’ Festival
Inspires NSU Students

The month of April kicked off with the 8th annual William Carroll Writers’ Festival. Hosted by Assistant Professor Dr. Jocelyn Heath, the English and Foreign Language departments hold the three-day event, along with the university, to commemorate the legacy of the late Dr. William Carroll, a Norfolk State alumnus and faculty member of the English department. Poets, authors and writers all across the Norfolk State campus and across the globe came together to share their work and gain knowledge from the various workshops.
